Working with dictation sources
A dictation source is an audio input device that you use to dictate with Dragon.
To add a dictation source:
Dragon allows you to use multiple dictation sources with a single user profile.
You can't add a dictation source to a transcription user profile.
If you are using a headset or hand-held microphone that plugs into your computer, plug it in first to make it available in the device list.
-
From the DragonBar, select Profile>Manage Dictation Sources.
The Manage Dictation Sources dialog box opens.
-
Click Add New Dictation Source.
The Add a Dictation Source dialog box opens.
- Select your dictation source, and then click Next.
-
Proceed through the wizard, configuring your device as prompted.
For more information, click the Help button on each wizard page.
-
Click Finish.
Dragon creates your dictation source.
If after adding a new dictation source, you get an error message about low quality audio, try running Audio>Check Microphone from the DragonBar while using the new dictation source.
To change your dictation source:
-
From the DragonBar, select Profile>Manage Dictation Sources.
The Manage Dictation Sources dialog box opens.
-
Select a device, and then click Select.
Dragon changes your dictation source.
