As the head of corporate strategy, Peter is responsible for advancing Nuance’s overall strategic direction and portfolio in line with emerging trends across our key vertical markets: healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, retail, and government. In addition, Peter is responsible for the creation and management of new strategic innovations focused on developing disruptive AI‑powered solutions. He also served as an Entrepreneur‑in‑Residence at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Peter holds a B.S. from the University of Vermont in Business Administration.
Chief Clinical Product Officer, Nuance
Jared Pelo, MD, FACP, is an Emergency Medicine physician and innovator. Dr. Pelo helps lead the ambient clinical intelligence team at Nuance where he is a Chief Medical Information Officer. Dr. Pelo’s passion is the intersection of technology and healthcare. With a deep understanding of complex systems and artificial intelligence, he creates solutions that make healthcare more functional and efficient.
Vice President of Patient Engagement Solutions, Nuance
Justin Jacobson is the Vice President and General Manager of Nuance’s Patient Engagement Solutions business. Justin joined Nuance in 2021 following 10 years at one of the largest healthcare organizations in the world. Prior to Nuance, Justin held multiple healthcare roles spanning business operations, innovation, product management, integration management, customer loyalty and marketing. Justin has a B.A. from Wheaton College (IL) as well as an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
Ambulatory Medical Information Officer, Monument Health
Dr. Gillen is the Ambulatory Medical Information Officer for Monument Health, the largest healthcare provider in Western South Dakota. Dr. Gillen has been with the IT team since January 2017 as part of the organization’s EHR unification project. Since that time, she continues to lead optimization efforts for the EHR, clinical workflows and focusing on provider satisfaction and efficiency. Dr. Gillen also serves as medical director of Nurse Triage, Chronic Care Management and COVID care. Dr. Gillen attended medical school at Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA. She completed her training and board certification in Family Medicine at the Rapid City Regional Hospital Family Medicine Residency in 2009 and is a current fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine.
