    SpeakFreely allows applications to understand an exceptionally broad range of words and phrases without requiring highly complex grammar rules that would be prohibitively time consuming and expensive to develop using traditional recognition techniques. SpeakFreely can handle response to open-ended questions (for instance, How can I help you today?) while still delivering very accurate recognition results. It achieves this using statistical language models (SLMs) and statistical semantic models (SSMs) that determine what a caller means in addition to the words they said.
