OmniPage Capture SDK 12

Kodak i60 doesn't scan properly and doesn't support duplexing through the OmniPage Capture SDK

Systems:
All Windows OS

Problem:
Kodak driver is not up to date.

Solution:
Download the latest driver available for the Kodak i60 from Kodak's website (i50-i60_Drivers_V2_06.exe).

PDF file loads as blank page or with only partial content

Systems:
All Windows OS

Problem:
JBIG2 compression is not supported.

Solution:
You cannot load PDF files with a JBIG2 compressed image component.

Character training cannot be run on image successfully loaded into the engine

Systems:
All Windows OS

Problem:
Images with a width of 4000 pixels or higher cannot be trained by our engine.

Solution:
You can workaround this problem by adjusting the overall width of the image below 4000 pixels. This might be done by reducing the overall DPI (which may affect overall recognition accuracy), manually resizing the image, or by directly editing the imaging to "cut out" sections that are not needed for recognition.

Scanning with the ADF is not working properly through the OmniPage Capture SDK

Systems:
All Windows OS

Problem:
Some multifunction scanning devices do not properly report their ADF status. These include the HP OfficeJet D135, HP OfficeJet K60xi, and Brother MFC 9880.

Solution:
Multifunction device manufacturer should update their drivers to provide correct ADF status reporting.

UMAX 600s reports that it can handle different brightness/ threshold settings but adjusting these seems to have no effect

Systems:
All Windows OS

Problem:
Black and white scanning does not support brightness and contrast variations. Only grayscale and color images are affected by these settings.

Solution:
This works as designed in the OmniPage Capture SDK but is incorrectly reported by the UMAX scanner.

Multifunction scanner devices provides ability to change margins for scanning but it seems to have no effect

Systems:
All Windows OS

Problem:
Most multifunction devices allow for the adjustment of scanning area, but in the OmniPage Capture SDK the entire image is scanned regardless of these settings.

Solution:
There is no current solution to this problem.
