Nuance Mobile Tops VisionMobile’s 100 Million Club

Nuance’s Pervasive Predictive Text and Mobile Speech Applications Recognized for Market Leadership; Portfolio Reaches Four Billion Handset Mark

BURLINGTON, MA, August 13, 2009 — Nuance Communications, Inc., today announced that its predictive text and embedded mobile speech software were both named to VisionMobile’s 100 Million Club for the second half of 2008. The VisionMobile 100 Million Club recognizes software businesses that have succeeded in establishing a significant presence in the mobile handset market, specifically those whose products have been embedded on more than 100 million mobile phones.

Nuance’s T9 predictive text portfolio tops VisionMobile’s list, having shipped on more than 4.1 billion phones to date, making it the most pervasive third-party software application in the mobile market today. Nuance’s mobile solutions were recognized during the first half of 2008, and T9 in 2007 — a result of Nuance’s extensive relationships with major mobile handset manufacturers and carriers around the world.
